Callanish Jewellery The Company – Local and inspired

Callanish Jewellery has been the brainchild of Anne-Lise Engebretsen who lives in the Isle of Lewis, home of The Calanais Stones. Over the years she has spent time visiting the impressive megalithic stone circle and has chosen stones which best capture the essence and the beauty of the impressive site. Five stones were originally chosen to be forged into solid silver, and it is planned that the range will grow over time to include every stone from the ancient stone formation.  

The solid, rooted nature of the stones may be part of their appeal to Anne-Lise and the many people who visit them each year. In this busy modern world we are inspired and
awed by such powerful bold historical relics whose meaning has been lost to us but still inspire us. The bold strength of the stones is captured in Anne-Lise’s Callanish Jewellery. Anne-Lise, belongs to the same islands as the stones coming from Norwegian Scottish parentage, but her style has also been influenced through years of traveling with cruise liners in the seventies and eighties. She now runs a delightful shop called ‘This ‘n That’ in Stornoway on Lewis and her hope is that her range of jewellry inspired by the stones will allow people to capture a little bit of Calanais for themselves.
